About

Welcome to our small family farm, nestled in the heart of the Ark-La-Tex!

How did we get here?

It all started in the 1960's when my great-grandfather had a dream of owning land.  He sought out what was available locally and landed on a 40-acre tract where he would enjoy coon-hunting and raise cattle.  When he concluded having his own herd of cattle, he allowed neighbors to run cows and horses on the property to keep it maintained.  After his passing, the property has remained in the ownership and care of the family, where we have enjoyed countless gatherings and adventures.  In 2020 my family moved onto the property, leaving the "city life" behind.  We are constantly working to improve the property, and were blessed to recently expand through acquiring the neighboring 40 acres.  Join us as we continue to improve our dream property, or better yet, as we "GOAT FOR IT!" 🐐

Why Chickens and Goats?

One of the most incredible parts of living here has been exploring and improving the property.  We had some hens in the city, and were quick to get chickens upon settling down here on "The Farm."  And yes... chickens are a gate-way farm animal. 😂  Quickly, we realized that, while the chickens were wonderful and helped keep down insects, we would need another type of animal to help us manage the land.  The rolling terrain here is extremely rocky, with lots of weeds and underbrush.  With this in mind, we decided that goats would be the best fit for our land management, as they thrive in undulating landscapes and much prefer brush to grasses.
